A Sunburst Chart is used to visualize hierarchical data, depicted by Multiple Donut Chart Layers. The circle in the center represents the parent node, with the hierarchy moving outward from the center. A segment of the inner circle bears a hierarchical relationship to those segments of the outer circle which elaborates the Hierarchical distribution starting from Parent node to all Child Nodes.
For Example By Year Data (viz., data of 2010,2011,2012 and so on) which can be elaborated by Quarters of each Year and even further drill down to by Months. And then show the Significant Quarters or months with additional Layer showing outliers.
Watch this video to understand what kind of data set is required to create Sunburst Chart and how to animate it based on Slicer / Drop Down Selection, also how to find outliers.
Keep Learning :)
